One day Trek to Bananthimari/Maribetta
This is my first trek with BTC and it was awesome. I was
very much excited about the trek (very rightly so) because it was my first trek
in last 5 months.
I got picked up from banashankari bus stop in a car(me,
Sanjeev,Sandhya and Manu) and we headed towards kanakapura. We stopped in
Kanakapura for breakfast and packed our lunch and headed towards the foothill
of Bananthamari Betta(BM Betta).
No one knew the route properly so we asked the localities all along the way and the people were so happy to help with a big smile on their face. Two kids from the village became our guides and they guided us all the way to the top and back to the base point. It was a trek with a lot of talks and we were blessed with an awesome weather, it was cloudy, chilly wind and even it drizzled sometimes.

Starting of the trek was easy and it became steep and steep as
we climbed up until we reached the summit. We trekked somewhere around 6 KM to
reach the summit.
Some were taking
photos in different poses and were trying to capture the magnificent beauty of
nature in their cameras(including me). Some were venturing the big rock
boulders nearby and fine tuning their ancestral skills..!!!!.
Almost after an
hour of relaxing with photo sessions, group photos and ventures, we decided to
go down towards a temple and have our lunch there. All the hungry mouths
feasted on Pulav and it never tasted this good ever before. After lunch some
were making best of the good weather and took a nap and some were discussing
about politics and I got busy and tried to capture few more time frames in my
mobile. Later cloud started forming and suddenly we all got ready for final
stretch of trek back to base point.
In a way nature made us to get ready and hit the trekking
trail once again and this time it’s back to base point.
We trekked somewhere around 4 Km to reach back to the base
point. Now it’s a time to get feedback from every one. Most trekkers said that
the trek got over so early and I totally agree with it because “TIME RUNS
FASTER WHEN WE ARE NOT COUNTING THE SECONDS”.
(Friends please do not try to confirm my theory on time in any of
physics books because this theory is postulated by me and it defies all the
physics laws..!!!)
I joined the rest of the team in mini bus while coming back
and our red bull Harish (you may call him as ‘soft drink Harish’ or ‘belly
dance Harish’ also!!!) took the initiative and made everyone dance. Everyone
danced Harish’s dance was like an icing on the cake.
Before the start of
the trek I did not know anyone and from the very beginning to till the end I
met a lot of nice and enthusiastic people and by the end of the trek I have so
many friends and a damn good trekking experience.
